AIDICO – in particular the Technical Fire Centre (CTF) - has been admitted to the European Group of Organisations for Fire Testing, Inspection and Certification (EGOLF) as an associate member. To achieve this, it has had to overcome some demanding technical and quality requirements, due to the international prestige this body has.

EGOLF was founded in 1988 in order to provide a forum for exchanging technical and scientific knowledge among centres involved in issues on fire safety. Members are independent organisations and are recognized by each member state to carry out tasks related with testing, inspection and certification of construction products and materials, in accordance with European legislation and standards.

The members’ work mainly focuses on matters related to analysing the reaction to fire and fire resistance of construction products and materials, as well as in areas of safety in case of fire. The organisation and its members play an important role within the European Union with respect to making decisions about legislation and standardization issues in protection against fires.

Belonging to EGOLF provides a great competitive advantage both for manufacturers who already test their products in the Resistance and Reaction to Fire Laboratories (CTF-AIDICO-AIDIMA) and want to internationalize their products, and for the Technical Fire Centre itself, as it puts it at the same level of technical and quality standards as the rest of European laboratories.
