CE MarkingThe Notified Bodies are a key factor during the process for obtaining the CE Marking. Theses bodies carry out inspections, certifications or tests and are named by the Member States. The European Commission gives them an identification number, which is valid for any New Approach Directives
AIDICO, is the Notified Body 1170 and carries out assessment work on compliance of construction products governed by the European Directive 89/106/CEE.
AIDICO’s role in obtaining the CE Marking for construction products that require collaborating with a certifying body, involves carrying out inspections on production control in factories, and in certain circumstances – depending on the product – it includes performing tests.
The outcome of these checks is laid out in a certificate that AIDICO grants to the manufacturer. However, although having this certificate is necessary, it is not enough. The aim of this Directive is to make the manufacturers themselves commit to selling products that comply with essential requirements defined in harmonized standards. Certification granted by AIDICO is a tool that acts a starting point for a final statement of compliance, which will enable your products to reach the market with the CE Marking and thereby enable them to be freely traded in the European Union
