  • 31 July, 2009 MORE THAN 30,000 PEOPLE PARTICIPATED IN THE FORUM ORGANISED BY AIDICO AND FEVEC IN THE CONGO REPUBLIC With the slogan “Consolidating Peace through training and work” as a backdrop, all of the attendees were able to take part in training sessions

This week, more than 30,000 people have attended the Forum on Training and Reinsertion into the Labour Market, which was organised by The Institute of Construction Technology (AIDICO) and the Valencian Federation of Construction Employers (FEVEC) in Brazzaville. The Republic of the Congo’s Fisheries Minister, Guy-Brice Kolelas, and the Director of AIDICO, Ramón Congost, have personally dealt with monitoring the event, which joins the list of other projects that the two Valencian organisations expect to carry out in the Republic of the Congo .

The forum, financed by the Congolese government, had two aims: to offer training on the different professions in the construction sector and to promote companies from the Region of Valencia to increase awareness of the services they provide and possible involvement in the reconstruction of the cities of this African country.

The event was organised as a consequence of agreements reached between the heads of AIDICO and FEVEC with both the Congolese Prime Minister and the Ministers of fisheries, Scientific Research and Technical Innovation, Technical and Professional Training and Energy and Water.

With the slogan “Consolidating Peace through training and work” as a backdrop, all of the attendees were able to take part in training sessions, such as workshops and exhibitions on the different professions the sector needs. In the same way, constructors and building developers from this African country have learnt about the products and services provided by companies from the Region of Valencia, who are interested in participating in the development of a large number of building projects that are foreseen in the Republic of the Congo-Brazzaville.

Likewise, different figures from the this country’s government have shown interest in acts that have been carried out in the forum by visiting it. Among those present were the Scientific Research Minister and the Environmental Minister, as well as the UN ambassador in the Republic of the Congo,
Lamin M. Maneh, together with his technical staff.

Among the different projects in the African country, one that is being earmarked concerns the possibility of setting up a permanent office for AIDICO en Brazzaville. This would provide support to the UN investments, thereby optimising and prioritising lines of action and with one constant feature: training through courses and practical work together with the Spanish companies that are granted construction work. To set the procedures in motion, a visit by a delegation of the Congolese government to AIDICO is expected next July 21.

AIDICO belongs to the Technology Institute Network in the Region of Valencia (REDIT) and is promoted by the Regional Department of Industry, Trade and Innovation.
