The Natural Stone Laboratory was created in 2003 with the aim of covering technical needs in the natural stone sector. The facilities, situated in Novelda, boast cutting edge equipment for carrying out physical and mechanical tests, in accordance with national and European legislation for compliance with requirements laid down in the CE Marking

Work carried out is mainly oriented towards the natural and agglomerate stone sector, as well as providing a service to companies whose products are related to the stone industry, such as aggregates, micronized products and fitting elements. The laboratory’s equipment includes presses, ageing chambers, microscopes, abrasion and slip measuring equipment.

• Product testing in accordance with the legislation.
• Studies and technical assessment on natural stone issues.
• Damage and pathology assessment and recommendations on uses for of natural stone.
• Participation in standardization committees.
• Development of new test procedures.
• Training.

In addition, AIDICO’s Marble Technical Unit is accredited by ENAC (# accreditation 133/LE351) for carrying out tests on Natural Stone.
