PRE-NORMATIVE RESEARCH AND STANDARDISATION

The general aim in this new area of knowledge is to optimise existing normative methods and develop new test methods to aid in the application of standards, or to propose modifications that technically improve them and may act as a reference for the different National and International Technical Standardization Committees.

Likewise, research is carried out into Drawing up Studies to technically improve test methods that may act be useful as a reference for the different National and International Technical Standardization Committees.

The scope of application in this area is the improvement of test methods for construction materials, as well as improving the metrology of the equipments and calibration procedures to aid in implementing new emerging test methods.

In AIDICO, Pre-normative and Standardization Research covers the following lines of research:

METROLOGY:

  • Development of uncertainty test calculations in standardized and non-standardized methods.
  • Development of metrological improvements in standardized test methods.
  • Study of new reference materials.
  • Development of new calibration procedures.
  • Parametric analysis of correlation of measurement variables.
  • Repeatabilty and reproducibility studies for non-standardized test results.

BASIC MATERIALS AND FINISHED PRODUCT - PREFABRICATION:

  • Development of new testing equipment.
  • Correlation study of non-standardized test methods.
  • Correlation study of different standardized test methods.
  • Development of new standardized methods.
  • Durability studies.
  • Design development of tests for Large Prefabricates.
  • Characterization of new products.
  • Experimental analysis of new test methods undergoing statistical studies on their reproducibility and repeatability.

Important Note

This area will not carry out any activity that could lead to a conflict of interests with the Institute’s work as a Control Body, with regard to the products assessed, in accordance with ENAC requirements laid out in PE-ENAC-OC/01.
