In the last few years, the pyrotechnics sector has undergone important statutory changes that drastically affect traditional ways of working. In a short period of time, there has been a profound restructuring of the legal framework concerning pyrotechnic activities. One of the main changes introduced is the compulsory certification of manufacturing processes of pyrotechnic devices (Act PRE/174/2007, January 31, updating complementary technical proceedings 8, 15, 19 and 23 of the explosives Act, passed in the Order of Council 230/1998, of February 16)

On the other hand, the framework for quality in the pyrotechnics sector suffers from series of shortcomings as a consequence of the lack of Governing Bodies with authority to carry out the previously mentioned compulsory certification tasks.

AIDICO is aware of the present situation and, as a guarantee of its technical competence, independence and impartiality, it is accredited by ENAC (National Accreditation Body) as a Controlling Body for the compulsory certification of control systems in the manufacture of pyrotechnic devices (Accreditation Nº OC-C/196)

Due to the fact that the CE 2007/23 Directive will soon come into force, concerning the commercialization of pyrotechnic devices, the next step will be the Notification as a body for granting pyrotechnic articles the CE Marking.
